Performance Canceled
A scheduled performance by an
area rock band has been canceled
due to threats of protests from a
Christian youth group opposed to
the group and their music.
Theresa Dubendorf of the Log
Cabin Inn said this morning that
she is canceling a performance by
Caeser Pink and The Imperial Orgy
because a letter circulated by a
group called the Council of Christian
Youth threatened an organized protest
at the bar if the group performs.
Dubendorf said she has been
receiving calls from unnamed callers
threatening to riot if the performance
is not canceled.

The Imperial Orgy's first hometown performance was banned when local church.
organizations pressured the Log Cabin Inn, a backwoods bar where the group was .
set to debut, to cancel their appearance.
The trouble first began to surface with rumors that pastors were preaching .
against the group in their Sunday morning sermons weeks before the performance.
date. In the week proceeding the show the Log Cabin Inn began receiving calls .
threatening to protest the performance, and in some cases even threatening to.
bomb the building if the performance was not canceled.
The callers, all of who refused to reveal their names, also petitioned newspapers.
and radio station to denounce The Imperial Orgy's evil ways. By the day of the show.
the local newspaper claimed to be receiving four calls per hour concerning the event..

Original Imperial Orgy members: Michael Abrams, Mhina Dada, Dave Surreal,
Lori Miller, Ron Boi, Samantha D, Caeser Pink
Under heavy pressure the Log Cabin Inn, which had burned to the ground by an .
arsonists two years before, finally canceled the show for fear of violence.
After the dust had settled, it was revealed the event had actually been a.
calculated performance art stunt set into motion by Caeser himself. It seems.
the troubles were instigated when a letter from a fictional Christian organization.
the 'Congress of Christian Youth' was sent to area churches claiming that the.
band members were Satan worshipers, sexual deviants, drug dealers, and used .
backwards masking to brainwash fans.
Without checking the authenticity of the facts, the local church members went .
into action condemning the group and their activities. In an interview, Caeser.
spoke about the event: "It certainly brought the hypocrites out of the woodwork..
The allegations were so outrageous that even the police knew they weren't true,.
but not one of them stopped to see if there was any truth behind them. That letter.
could have been created by anybody and aimed at anyone, and they would have.
destroyed the target if they had the power in their means. Does anyone recall a.
commandment that goes 'Thou Shall Not Judge?'"
When asked about the moral questions concerning the deceptive nature of the event Pink.
continued, "We laid a snare and they fell into it due to their moral imperialism,
made dangerous by complete irresponsibility in not checking on the validity of the
allegations. We had hoped to confront the protesters publicly, but none of them had.
the courage to even give their names and come out into the open so they could be .
called to account for themselves. This kind of behavior is a potentially dangerous .
force in America and could have destructive effects in our future."
In the aftermath of the event three of the original band members were so distressed.
by the storm of controversy that swept the town that they quit the band in the days.
following, leaving the remaining members to perform as a four-piece at another show.
at a nearby club the next weekend. In addition to the political statement of the .
Christian escapade, the event also gave the band an immediate reputation as the.
area's rock n' roll bad kids.
