THE IMPERIAL ORGY AT DOWNTIME N.Y.C. - by Tara Leddo - January 12, 2000
Imperial Orgy is a creative feast. The psychedelic type video clips that
play in the background during their performance contributes to the powerful draw of the music.
Lead vocalist Caeser Pink exudes an air of self assurance
and sex appeal reminiscent of John Travolta's character in Grease. His raw energy
connects him with the audience. Dancers Samantha D and Lilah do their seductive dance
in perfect complement to the music. The several musicians in the band have an amazing
ability to play a wide variety of musical styles.
On the song "Dinosaur" Caeser Pink sings with tongue and cheek humor about how his
girlfriend slept with Robert Plant after he took her to see Page and Plant at Madison Square
Garden. During "Sex Salvation" Caeser Pink lures a female audience member forward to take
a bite of his apple. He links with the audience by going out in the crowd and singing right
to them, while Lilah and Samantha D pull people on stage to dance.
The Imperial Orgy encourages you to let yourself go and feel the music. Their wide variety
of music styles offers a little something for everyone. Their music embodies a free spirit that
infects everyone in the audience. Founding members Caeser Pink and drummer Mhina Dada formed
the band with the idea of total creative freedom, a goal they have certainly achieved. Imperial
Orgy is an experience that broadens the mind and the senses.
